ReCharge Compact EV Charging Station

The primary goal of this design is to increase the number of EV chargers in Australia’s regional and rural areas. This is achieved by being a multi vehicle DC charging station with the benefits of a smaller unit, using a distributed internal system, within a low cost, modular frame.

Recharge Compact Ev Charging Station

Below is a very brief overview of the Bachelor of Design (Honours, Industrial) Thesis project for Sean Webb. The aim from semester one was to choose a topic that was in the automotive field, a design that helped solve a real, tangible issue, something that implemented into the real world beyond these units, and more likely to gain funding and support from industry and QUT.

As well as being a thesis project, this could also serve a vital stepping stone for Sean’s career, and for electric vehicles. With further development and support from relevant industry partners, the ReCharge charging stations has the power to greatly contribute to the monumental task of bringing Australia’s EV charging infrastructure into line with the rest of the developed world, and finally offer Australia’s EV drivers the comfort and convenience they deserve.
